John Buttars: Minister(retired), Harcourt United Church
John Buttars grew up in small villages in Eastern and Central Ontario and was educated at Queen's, McGill, Toronto General Hospital and St. Stephen's College (Edmonton). Ordained in 1970, he served Harcourt Memorial United Church in Guelph for thirty years from 1976 to 2006. In retirement he acts as a spiritual companion/director and is active in Chalmers Community Services Centre. Barbara and John have two daughters and three grandchildren.
His non-work interests include reading, biking, walking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, Guelph’s rich cultural life of music and theatre, and a little bit of curling in the winter.

Mike Schreiner, Green Party of Canada
As co-founder of WOW Foods, an award-winning local organic food distribution company, Mike Schreiner worked for over 10 years to connect local farmers with consumers in the GTA and Guelph. His business was awarded the Citizens Bank of Canada Ethics in Action Award for socially responsible business and the Toronto Food Policy Council’s Local Food Hero Award.
Mike Schreiner is well-known for his leadership in co-founding the award-winning Local Food Plus (LFP) organization, a non-profit that brings farmers and consumers together to promote environmentally sustainable local food systems. While Mike was at LFP, the organization won several prestigious national awards.
Mike was elected leader of the Green Party of Ontario on November 14, 2009
